Nantucket Race Week Youth Big Boat Fun Sail - and - Tall Ships Sailing Opportunities 

Nantucket Community Sailing students ages 7-18 from all of our summer programs are invited to register, free of charge, for these incredible opportunities to sail on "big" boats that will be in Nantucket for Nantucket Race Week. This is an incredible opportunity to get our local sailors out on these beautiful boats that only visit the harbor once a year. Students can learn to steer on a wheel, grind a winch and jump halyards!

On Wednesday, August 15th from 10am-12pm several of the 12m America's Cup boats, plus other visiting yachts, will take local sailing program participants out on the water for a fun sail and race. Participants will meet NCS instructors in a TBD location in town at 9:15am, and be back at the same location for pick-up at 12:15pm. Interested sailors should call the Nantucket Community Sailing Office on Monday morning starting at 9:00am at 508-228-6600 to register. Life jackets will be provided and closed-toe shoes will be mandatory. Registration will be handled on a first-come, first-serve basis and limited space is available.

On Monday, August 20th, the Tall ship Pride of Baltimore II a replica of War of 1812 schooner will have 30-35 seats available for Nantucket Community Sailing program participants ages 7-18 to head out on a sail from 9:30am - 12:30pm. Participants will meet NCS instructors in a TBD location and time, and be back at the same location for pick-up. Interested sailors should call the Nantucket Community Sailing Office before Friday August 17th at 508-228-6600 to register and provide us with your email address. Once the final details have been confirmed, there will be a email distributed to everyone that has been confirmed for participating. Life jackets will be provided and closed-toe shoes will be mandatory. Registration will be handled on a first-come, first-serve basis and limited space is available.
